Our Expert (Repair Tuner, Piano Builder or qualified professional) will come to your home or on site to assess the technical condition and therefore the recommendations for repair.

Our tuners travel all over Luxembourg, Lorraine (Epinal, Nancy, Metz, Thionville, Longwy, etc.), Belgium (Arlon, Bastogne) and Germany (Deutschland, Trier, Saarbrücken). Travel included in this service.

We also have the opportunity to carry out professional expertise outside this geographical area through our partner Tuners in the European Europiano network. Supplement of €100 incl. VAT for this service.

• Make an appointment for a visit from Monday to Saturday

• One of the experts visits the site to assess:

1. The Aesthetic Condition of Your Piano

2. The status of the keyboard

3. The mechanical condition of your piano

4. Frame Type and Condition

5. Tunable or no longer table: assessment of the bed base, ankle support

6. The condition of the rear lutherie block : soundboard in perfect condition, to be repaired (closed/open slots) or to be replaced

7. The condition of the wooden easels: in perfect condition, to be repaired or replaced

8. The condition of the wear parts: strings, hammers, mechanical straps, key mortises, etc.

9. Collects information such as brand, serial number, or specific features of the keyboard (ivory/plastic coating), action (typology) or soundboard (types of bracing)

10. Capture of transport-related information (optional)

• Drafting of an estimate for the repair of your piano (valid for insurance companies and estates), with details of the operations recommended to find a pleasant instrument, even exceptional for some. The mention of an "in-condition" value of the instrument is specified, as well as the details of the values of each operation/supply recommended.

• When you carry out the recommended operations or if you prefer to replace your piano to be repaired with a new piano (digital, hybrid or acoustic), the amount of this quote is fully refundable.

• Quote sent within a maximum of 15 working days. Rapid deployment of our services (transport, etc.) after your decision.

Certificate of expertise of your piano

You will then have a certificate attesting to the value and costs necessary to restore your piano:

• This document is mandatory in the event of damage to your piano, which is covered by your home insurance or the mover's insurance . We will determine the consequences related to the accident that occurred at the piano (water damage/flooding, fall during a piano transport, misuse by a minor, etc.).

• This document is recommended in the context of an inheritance, in order to value the property in its original condition and to certify its value to the heirs.

• When you receive a family piano (or before transporting it), you will be able to determine the costs necessary to find and keep an instrument that will delight new generations.

No repair is carried out without an estimate issued by Pianos Schaeffer, which will exhaustively determine the technical operations in order of priority.
